Blog 2:How indoor greening effects an indoor space

Indoor greening has a long history. With the development of urban and suburban buildings, green space is correspondingly reduced. People have a natural nostalgia for the lost green space. In particular, people who live and work in multi-storey or high-rise buildings are more eager to have a green environment around them (Horton, 2017). Plants in the case of light can make air fresh, but also adjust the humidity in an indoor space. Green is a soft color, it gives a good stimulation for our cerebral cortex, it also makes our tired nervous system work and recovers better after our sleep and recovery. Flowers and plants with its colorful, diverse and beautify the indoor environment, add charm, to the enjoyment of beauty. In my opinion, green plants and flowers are not only used in exterior and public spaces, it is a very essential element to include in indoor home environment, as it helps and improves the aesthetic of the room also delivers a soothing and calming effect on the user both physically and psychologically.

This kind of interior decoration mainly uses plant as material to combine the shape and  size of an interior space. The beautification of indoor environment is mainly composed of two aspects. One is the beauty of the plant itself, including its color, morphology and aroma; Second, through the proper combination and connection of plants and indoor environment, organically configured, from the color, shape, texture and other aspects of a sharp contrast, and the formation of a beautiful environment. Modern science has proved that greening has a very important ecological function. Edify taste cultivate the body and mind. As people now a days spend most of their time indoors, the closed and monotonous environment will make people lose close to nature . This desire for nature can be achieved through indoor greening, not only because plants are the most representative life of nature but also because of the positive affect it brings to our indoor space as well as our health.

Indoor greening design decoration brings flowers into the room, so that people seem to be in the nature so as to relax and maintain mental health. Green plants are used to beautify the indoor space and to conform to the art law, but it cannot hinder the daily indoor activities. The selection of plant and plant height depends on the size of the building space. In order to satisfy the plant reasonable growth space and light conditions, but also to meet the visual feelings of people, the height of the plant generally does not exceed 2/3 of the height of space, otherwise, will cause the sense of space repression. Indoor greening design is the sustainable development direction of modern interior design. With the gradual improvement of people’s living standard and the further awakening of ecological environment consciousness, indoor greening design will become an indispensable part of modern interior design, and will be paid more attention by users.
